Richard Cordray, long-time financial literacy advocate and the new Director of the Consumer Protection Bureau, has an extensive history of working with Visa to improve financial education. He demonstrated his quest to improve global financial literacy by partnering with Visa as a speaker at the 2007 Financial Literacy and Education Summit and on the Ohio rollout of the educational game, Financial Football.
Cordray Long Dedicated to Financial Literacy

Role in the Financial Literacy and Education Summit
Cordray played an integral role in Visa's first annual
Financial Literacy and Education Summit as a featured
panelist. The then-state treasurer of Ohio joined the
discussion on policy along with other leaders in the field
of financial education. Discussion focused on ways to
promote financial education on a national level.

Financial Literacy Education Though Video Games
Cordray also partnered with Visa on the early distribution of Visa's NFL-themed educational game, Financial Football. He assisted with the statewide rollout of the game in Ohio in 2007, distributing copies of the game to every high school and public library in the state. Via an event at a local school, Cordray also teamed up with Cleveland Browns' players to promote the game.
